BBC Countryfile star Adam Henson is your host at the Cotswold Farm Park, an entertaining and informative hill-top farm deep in the high wold.
It’s a not a cash-in attraction though. Joe Henson began the Farm Park back in 1971. He was a forward-thinking man, with a keen interest in rare breeds. The Farm Fark today is a little slicker, but it remains a real farm, with over 50 flocks and herds of varous animals. And yes, Adam does farm here and is frequently to be seen at work. He’s a nice chap who commands a lot of respect locally.
Season Tickets
Many local families buy a season ticket because the place is so child-friendly. It’s worth pointing out that this is much more than just a childrens’ attraction. Few adults can resist the chance to hold a rabbit or a chick in the Discovery Barn.
There are a series of events that mirror the farming year. Pride of place goes to lambing, always a thrilling experience. The farm is well organised to allow you to get as close as possible and you’ll find yourself leaving knowing more about food and farming.
Top tip – if you want to experience an easily managed shorter Cotswold walk you can walk a signposted route as part of your visit. Shop and Cafe are a cut above.
